CIA Terrorism Review Reports (1982-2001)
3,922 pages of the periodical CIA report, "Terrorism Review," dating from 1982 to 1991 and 1994 through 2001. The files contain approximately 2,200 pages with discernable information due to redactions made by the CIA.
These reports were published by the Director of Central Intelligence's Counterterrorist Center. Compiled by the Deputy Director, Instability and Insurgency Center, Office of Global Issues. The publication provided a world-wide overview of entities engaging in recent terrorist activity. It noted current trends and changing dynamics of pursuits of individuals, groups and nations involved in terroristic actions.
The reports began with an overview of world-wide terrorism, listing highlights and articles on significant developments. Usually followed by a chronology including significant events, incidents, and trends in international terrorism, with commentary on their background, importance, and wider implications.
Reports ended with a terrorism diary for the recent period and a summary of indigenous terrorism.
